Navigate your homeschool year with confidence —
and enjoy smooth sailing through every lesson.

Our beautifully designed, open-and-go secular homeschool curriculum is research-backed and crafted for families and the rhythms of real life.

Created by a veteran educator and homeschool mom with a Master of Education degree from Harvard, each program blends engaging design, clear structure with built-in flexibility, and proven approaches to help children build strong academic foundations while falling in love with learning.

On some days, you might want a simple, low-prep plan. On others, you may be ready for imaginative learning experiences that add wonder and delight. Our structure supports you either way — giving you the freedom to teach in the way that works best for your family.

Our language arts and literature lessons weave authentic literature together with geography, science, art, and hands-on exploration to nurture critical thinking, creativity, and real-world connections.

Whether you’re planning a full year of learning or simply looking for a book-club–style literature unit to enjoy together, Starboard Studies offers resources to meet you where you are — and help your family learn, grow, and thrive.

Why Families Love Starboard Studies

The best homeschool curriculum supports both the parent and the child. Starboard Studies gives you the tools and confidence to teach — and your child the curiosity and excitement to learn.

Our Homeschool Curriculum is…

Meaningful — rooted in authentic, high-quality literature and enriched with connections across geography, science, art, and more. Every lesson uses approaches that align with how children learn best.
Memorable — filled with hands-on projects, story-based lessons, and shared family learning experiences.
Manageable — open-and-go, clearly guided lessons that fit your family’s rhythm and season of life.

Our Curriculum Philosophy

Starboard Studies isn’t built on one single method — it’s a thoughtful blend of the best research-based practices and time-tested approaches to learning. We believe education should be both inspiring and effective, rooted in how children actually learn and grow.

From Charlotte Mason we draw the value of living books and rich, meaningful ideas. From Waldorf-inspired practices we take the importance of beauty and creativity in the learning environment. Our language arts lessons are grounded in the Science of Reading and incorporate Orton–Gillingham–inspired strategies in the yearly years, ensuring that reading and spelling instruction is both systematic and accessible.

We also weave in elements of project-based learning and thematic, interdisciplinary teaching, connecting literature to geography, science, art, and history so that learning feels whole and connected. Hands-on projects, open-ended discussions, and real-world applications encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity.

By combining these influences, Starboard Studies offers a well-rounded, adaptable approach that honors the child as a whole learner — nurturing academic growth, creativity, and a genuine love of learning.
